Nooran Islamic School operates in a way resembling the cooperative model. This model reduces cost of operation, allows families to be directly involved with their children's Islamic education, and it gives the families a sense of ownership of the school with a collective desire to make it as best as can be.

Parents' participation in taking turns to cover the above mentioned duties is mandatory. Volunteer opportunities for non-school members: The school welcomes help from members in the wider community. Volunteers can be added to the rotational list along with the parents. The school also welcomes help with designing elective classes. A volunteer who has a special talent or interest can present to the school a plan for an elective class. Upon approval of the presented plans, the school will assist in the required logistics.
