About

Nooran Islamic School operates using a cooperative model. This approach helps reduce operational costs, encourages active parental involvement in their children's Islamic education, and fosters a collective sense of ownership and commitment to the school's success.

Parents collaborate to support the school by covering various operational duties. Participation in these duties is mandatory for all families.

Rotational Duties

Some tasks are shared among families on a rotational basis. Each family is expected to fulfill these duties approximately once every eight weeks (a total of 4–5 times per school year):
  • Assisting with classroom setup and cleanup
  • Supervising during lunch and recess
  • Assisting with student drop-off and pick-up

Fixed-Year Duties
Other responsibilities are assigned to families for the entire school year. Parents who take on one of these fixed roles will be exempt from participating in the rotational duties listed above. These roles include:
  • Managing the school’s social media accounts
  • Maintaining the volunteer tracking sheet
  • Coordinating catering for student lunches, snacks, and school supplies

Volunteer Opportunities for Non-School Members
Nooran Islamic School also welcomes volunteers from the wider community:
  • Rotational Support: Community members may join the rotational schedule alongside parents.
  • Elective Classes: Volunteers with a special talent, skill, or area of interest are encouraged to propose elective class plans. Upon approval, the school will assist with logistics and implementation.
