Quran Reading Teacher
Job description: Help students learn how to recognize the components of the text of the Quran and make the correct sounds accordingly. 
​
Qualifications:
  1. Proficiency in reading the Quran with tajweed and correct makharij (sounds). 
  2. ​Familiarity with the Qaida Nooraniya method for teaching how to read the Quranic text (training for Nooraniya method is available)
        
Time commitment: 1-3 hours on Sundays between September to May.

Quran Tafseer Teacher
Job description: Discuss the assigned sura using a certified English translation of the Quran. 
Qualifications: Strong knowledge in the meanings and context of the assigned surah(s)
Time commitment: 1-3 hours on Sundays between September to May. When sufficient volunteer staff is available, teachers may rotate in blocks of 8 consecutive Sundays or continue until the tafsir of one surah is completed—whichever comes first.

Islamic Studies Teacher
Job description: Present the lesson material in a way that captures the students' attention and sparks their interest. 
Qualifications: It is required that teachers be familiar with the subject matter of their lessons. The assigned books are the main resource. Students are encouraged to ask questions. However, questions that require a level of knowledge beyond that which is presented in the assigned books will be referred to the imam or to a qualified scholar. 
Time commitment: 1-3 hours on Sundays between September to May. When sufficient volunteer staff is available, teachers may rotate in blocks of 8 consecutive Sundays.

Volunteer Assistant jobs
Job description: cover one of the following duties:
  1. Teacher assistant (in classes with kids in KG to 3rd grade): this includes
    1. Help the teacher with classroom set up and clean up
    2. Assist kids in doing wudu' and be ready for Thuhur prayer
    3. Assist the teacher and the students in doing the class work and activities.
  2. Lunch / Recess assistant: Help supervise students and monitor their safety during lunch and recess
  3. Pick up assistant: assist in controlling traffic around the masjid and help students find their rides in the student loading area. 
Time commitment: your name will be added to a list of parents and volunteers. Names on the list get to cover one of these duties once every 6 to 8 weeks
